I mean, I understand people irl who’ve ceased, paradoxically, the buddy circle from grade that got me in to RS gold has stopped besides me. So individuals definitely quit. I believe that the reason you hear those”you can’t stop” stories is because without a doubt, everyone who has played with RS for a long time has TRIED to stop or even had quit temporarily, myself included. I’ve taken breaks as long as 14 months from RuneScape but find myself wrapped. It is exciting and nauseating all at precisely the exact same moment. When I’m in the mindset of playing RS, I regret taking much needed fractures since I think to myself things like”I would already be Max caped when I didn’t quit”.

That. The purpose of RuneScape is for it to document the time you have spent in it and hold that in your face for a ransom to keep you invested forever. Guess how you are feeling then and if you buy a maximum cape stop? “I might have had max cash by today”,”I could have experienced X pet by today”, blah blah blah etc. etc., and all of the while you aren’t even progressing any sort of ability in RuneScape like you do in other games (simple examples are FPS games and fighting games, each of which reward your time investments together with you getting better in them). You can’t”get better” at RS, it’s just a little 3D trophy case with vacant slots that goad you into giving it more of your time.

They went from among the games off all time, to killing free trade off, and taking out the wildly and almost killing off RuneScape in less than a year. Not to mention once EoC came out killing off it again. The removal of wildy and free trade, I am willing to accept. Nobody knows how bad it actually was they were quite near becoming cut away. I don’t agree with it and I think it still wasn’t a fantastic descision but I have managed to make peace. EOC on the other hand was a shitshow that is entire and should not have occurred. What were they thinking. If folks wanted a MMO then they would have been enjoying this, not RuneScape.

While yes it was justified. It didn’t solve the issue. Gold farms ended. However, all it did was into botting to get XP, turn buy runescape 3 gold players. Honestly me concerns for the durability of osrs. Jagex did not make EOC cause fuck us. They thought it’d help RuneScape long term. And honestly it might have. With the system in place there is only so much that you can do to help pvm. That is the focus. And doors to pvm opened and likely has the pvm between them both. Even though RuneScape is booming at this time. In a couple of years the focus of RuneScape may start feeling stale and could tank the people.
