I meant that nowadays theres an expectation for RuneScape
Runescape 2 published. Tiranwwn released (elf lands). Kharidian desert greatly expanded. Relekka, Etceteria, Miscellania, and RS gold Lighthouse published (and everything north of the council bridge). Runecrafting skill. Burthorpe, troll areas released. Numerous quests associated with the above.
They did that with a little development team compared to today’s. I understand it is more difficult to release upgrades nowadays with all that, but more quests and updates in general sure will be nice. I’m probably very wrong here but it seems like Jagex puts more thought into Treasure Hunter/Solomon’s updates compared to normal game updates. A whole lot of items which have been released there could have been incorporated into a new quest or ability expansion.
Quality over quantity I figure? Not really. That is implying that 2005 had bad quality or that now has great quality. This year’s quests: One of a Kind – Okay. The only problem with this one is that it ought to have been rated Master rather than Grandmaster. It’s also rushed. The new regions utilize recycled graphics (celestial dragon dungeon will be the same as the Brimhaven metal dragon area). Fate of the Gods – Really good / great. It’s contained but still done well. Shadow Over Ashdale – Novice and brief, but good atmosphere. The Mighty Fall – Pretty Good.
Plague’s End – Obviously rushed, although some parts were fine they were overshadowed by the lack of depth in others. So two are dashed and three are good. I’d say If we look at a few late 2013 quests, I’d say a couple of others are clearly rushed too, like Birthright of the Dwarves that had no Post Quest Dialogue until the release of Plague’s End (nearly a year). 2005 quests: I can not find a complete list but here’s a few I found. Desert Treasure – Pretty good.
Mourning’s Ends Part II – Immersive, none of my favorites though for obvious reasons. Rat Catchers – This is long and sort of funny. New areas published, etc.. Swan Song – New Area, good boss fight. And 20+ more quests, not one of which felt hurried. Thats not what I meant, I meant that nowadays theres an expectation for most quests to have a nice storyline, decent cinematics, decent things to do and maybe a purposeful reward. I have ploughed through probably 40-50 members quests in my ironman and a lot really feel as’do x”doy”do z’ get things, and runescape 2007 gold complete pursuit.
