RuneScape seriously needs some kind of item sink that is big.

High alchemy is good and all, but if it helps for these items, it retains them at their minimun price all of the time. Together with other costly items such as whips or the like, the items sink is almost unexistant. This gradually devaluates all the pricey equipment until it reaches HA worth, which can be dirt cheap. This also means that grinding for all those items becomes useless for non ironmans, as they are simple too cheap to bother. The tentacle whip is a great example on how best to keep prices up for these items, perhaps more degradeable stuff might be good for RuneScape, however I think a lot of people prefer to unlock items without worrying about them.

People today shit on runescape a good deal but the invention of innovation literally rescued old school runescape buy gold eco friendly from getting like osrs, or staying that way instead. It is definitely worth consideration, but considering a new ability is never going to fucking pass in RuneScape it is a long shot. We don’t need a 1:1 invention clone, they make weapons much more powerful which we are reaching the upper limits of in osrs, but there has to be yet another way they could come up with to break down common or overinflated items that were destroyed by modern bossing lootb tables into something useful for other skills and such.
