What is it all about PSO and PSO alone that makes it so unique to me
Or were they? From the time PSO was available on Xbox and Gamecube, I had a PC and I was using it to play WoW with buddies in PSO2 Meseta for sale college. And I enjoyed WoW well, but tbh its appeal was that my buddies were playing with it. As if PSO did, it didn’t grab me, and I dropped off shortly after finishing the Lich King content to my own satisfaction. I had a similar encounter with Diablo III, such as it was fun to play with friends but that I could never shake the feeling that I markedly less engaged than the people with whom I had been playing.
From the time PSO2 at NA was actually, for actual announced at E3 this past year, I’d more or less accepted that online multiplayer RPGs weren’t actually for me. Maybe I had aged out of this genre, perhaps I’d come to favor shorter, single player adventures to multi-player loot slogs, possibly my fond memories of PSO had to do with the context of its launch than anything else. But nostalgia for that high school PSO obsession ensured that I’d be the proud owner of a gradient purple Xbox One S at the end of June.
Had I sprung for a contemporary console sooner in the cycle, I probably would have gotten a PS4 for Spider-Man, however I am happy I waited given the fantastic deal of enjoyment I’ve had with gamepass (and especially Forza Horizon 4) since choosing Xbox if only because of eventual access to PSO2. And when the beta came, I got that same all-consuming addicted PSO feeling all over again. PSO was straight back, bigger and much better than ever, and worth the wait. As of rn, my apt is completely stocked with food and cold medicine, I’ve a week (at least) off work beginning Tuesday evening and my (admittedly meager) heap of shame was depleted down to a more reasonable size.
Looking back over this, there isn’t a lot of PSO in my PSO Story, but the absence of it out of my life for so long did a lot of set the stage for my own excitement now. What is it all about PSO and PSO alone that makes it so unique to me, so appealing when games such as WoW, Diablo and Dragon Hunter have failed to hold my attention despite their inarguable craft and quality? gosh and I am happy to get it back, although I’m not sure.
Old man here, I began form the beginning on the Master System with Phantasy Star 1. Then to Phantasy Star, and Phantasy Star 2-4 on the Genesis 2 was $90 back in’89. Got Phantasy Star 4 for the 13th birthday. Silence downloaded the Phantasy Star Game Gear games using a patch that is Language and for years before I discovered emulators. Subsequently of course PSO about the DC, ended up importing Version two months ahead of the US launch. Then to PSU about the PC (US servers being almost 2 years supporting the JP servers). Heartbroken when there was NO information on the PSO2 release US launch date for I ended up signing up back. I’ll play the NA release in regards to PC but if its Xbone only I’ll just stick to buy Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta the JP servers.
